When and How can I buy my books for Fall?

·  The Rocker Shop staff will have your order waiting for you.

· Photo ID is required for pick up.

· Allow bookstore staff 3 working days to process orders.

· Books will be reshelved by the end of the first week of classes if not picked up.

· Late deliveries from publishers, late adoptions from faculty members, addition of courses offered, etc. may affect the availability of textbooks.

· Financial Aid is unavailable for online orders.

In-Store

· You select your own textbooks. Course Card indicates available format options.

· Easiest way to use Financial Aid.

 How does the bookstore determine which books I need ?

· Books are chosen by the faculty members of the respective course

· Faculty are encouraged to make book decisions early so the least expensive books may be found

·  The Rocker Shop acquires your books from used book wholesalers and new book publishers

What do I need to have with when looking for books in the store?

· Have your course schedule available when reserving or purchasing textbooks

· Some section numbers may use different books for the same course number

How much will my textbooks cost this fall?

· Costs depend on your course load and particular courses

· Freshman students should budget approximately $600-$800 for fall semester

What if I order online and find the same textbook listed twice for the same course?

· Indicates that there are different formats available for the same book.

· Not required to purchase both.

Above the textbook list for the course there is a section called “sections notes” which explains the situation.

Does The Rocker Shop Bookstore accept phone credit card orders?

· Yes, you will need to provide the necessary information along with the security number from the back of your credit card.

· Bookstore does not keep your card on file.

· Upon the conclusion of the transaction the card number will be destroyed

What if I buy the wrong book from The Rocker Shop Bookstore?

· Full refunds through the date indicated on your receipt.

· Required to have receipt for any book return.

· All items that came with book, must also be returned for full refund

Can I use Financial Aid to purchase my textbooks?

Speak with Student Account/Cashiers Office personnel for details on how to use Financial Aid to purchase books.

When is textbook sellback?

· Textbook sellback is held during Finals Week.

What affects the amount I get back for textbooks at sell back?

· Usage for next semester

· Quantity needed

· Edition of the title

· Condition of the copy

· Missing components

· Custom or highly specified

How much will I get for my books at sellback?

·  The Rocker Shop pays up to 50% of the new book purchase.

· Price depends upon supply and demand.

· Due to new editions being published, there are times where we are unable to pay anything for your books.

· Students receive cash upon the completion of a valid buyback

What about textbook pricing?

· Bookstore only grosses 20% on a new textbook.

· That 20% must pay all overhead expenses.

· 100% of the money made, after expenses is reinvested into the school.

· Lowest book prices are always sought.

If the bookstore could give me a hint about the security of my books, what would it be?

· Textbooks should be treated like valuables.

· Make a small unique pencil “mark” on a page to identify it.

· If your book is lost or stolen, you can identify it by indicating what the unique mark is and what page it is on.
